What is the mechanism of rocuronium?

Rocuronium is a nondepolarizing aminosteroid neuromuscular blocking agent. It blocks acetylcholine’s action at nicotinic receptors at the motor endplate, preventing muscle depolarization.

Unlike a depolarizing agent, it blocks neuromuscular transmission without first activating the receptor.

FAQs

Why use Neo alongside general AI?

Neo is built around anesthesia, with a knowledge base drawn from curated notes on core textbooks. Ask a specific question, read the explanation, and use the reference to explore further in your own copy.

Who created Neo Anesthesia?

Neo Anesthesia was created by a nurse anesthesia resident who wanted a clearer way to work through difficult anesthesia topics, revisit key concepts, and trace explanations back to textbook references. It grew from the questions, study sessions, and teaching moments that shape anesthesia training.

Where do the answers come from?

The knowledge base contains curated study notes on core anesthesia texts. Answers identify the chapter author and year, with book and chapter information and a page when available. Full textbook access is not included.

What if an answer or citation is wrong?

Check the claim and its context in your own source. Use the feedback controls in Neo to report a problem. A citation makes an answer easier to inspect; it does not guarantee accuracy.

Why does Neo have a paid plan?

Neo takes ongoing work to maintain: curated anesthesia references, citation checks, secure accounts, and the infrastructure that delivers answers. The free plan lets you try Neo with five questions each month, with no card required. Paid plans support regular use and help us keep the service maintained.

What do I get for free?

Five questions each calendar month, with the same citation format as paid plans. No payment card is required to start. Student includes 150 questions per month; Clinician includes 600.

What happens at my limit, and how do I cancel?

Your allowance resets at 00:00 UTC on the first day of each calendar month. You can upgrade in the app or wait for the next reset. Manage and cancel a website subscription through billing in the web app. If you subscribed through the iPhone app, manage it in your Apple Account subscriptions.

Can I use Neo for patient-care decisions?

Neo is an educational study and reference tool, not a clinical decision tool. Do not enter patient information. Check anything affecting care against current primary literature, professional guidelines, and your institution’s policies.
